The Fix

The Master Gun The Fix Sound Effects library is recorded using a large array of various microphone configurations, we recorded shots from several distances in an open shooting range in the Nevada Desert.

Weapon Information

The Q Fix is a lightweight, highly portable bolt-action rifle designed for precision and modularity. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, it excels in long-range shooting, offering exceptional accuracy. The 17-inch barrel strikes a balance between compactness and ballistic performance.

A standout feature of the Q Fix is its one-piece receiver, which reduces weight and mechanical complexity while enhancing durability and rigidity. The rifle incorporates AR-style controls and a 45-degree short bolt throw for faster cycling and smoother operation.

Key features include: – Fully adjustable folding stock with an adjustable cheek riser and butt pad – Free-floating Q-SERT handguard for accessory attachment – SR-25 magazine compatibility for ease of reloading – Tapered muzzle with Cherry Bomb muzzle brake, compatible with Q’s suppressors – 2-stage trigger for a crisp break and short reset.

Combining lightweight construction, long-range precision, and modularity, the Q Fix is adaptable for competitive shooting, precision marksmanship, and hunting. The 6.5 Creedmoor chambering delivers excellent ballistics, maintaining accuracy and velocity over extended distances.

Raw Recordings

Our raw shots features a total of 20 channels including 10 Stereo sources. All of our close and mid spaced pair Microphone options can be used as two independent mono microphones. The right side of every spaced pair will have more Mech than its left side counterpart.

Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable.

Our foley features a total of a stereo A/B pair of Neumann KMR81i mts which are placed on both the left and right of the gun. All of the foley has been recorded at 192kHz for extreme processing workflows.

Suppressed Recordings

In addition to the unsuppressed shot recordings, we’ve also sampled the The Fix with a suppressor attachment. The suppressed The Fix was sampled right after the unsuppressed recordings using the exact same microphone setup as the unsuppressed version. This provides you a seamless transition between the unsuppressed and the suppressed recordings.

The suppressed recordings also have the added benefit of muting the shot layers which helps bring out the intricate details of the mechanism (mech layers).

Because adding a suppressor to the firearm increases the weapons muzzle velocity, the fire rate of the suppressed weapon is slightly faster than its unsuppressed counterpart.

With the purchase of the Master Gun Armoury Bundle you will receive all base library updates for free which can include us recording new samples for the library, re-sampling the entire library with more microphones, new designed mixes, metadata updates, etc.

Why Deliver 32-Bit Float Shots?

There are several advantages in using 32Bit float recordings. One of which is having greater separation from the explosion of the gun and the mech. Because of this, you’ll be able to isolate the mech from each gun and bring out each guns unique characteristics.

32Bit Float files require a slightly different workflow than you might be used to. Other gun sample libraries that use 24 Bit recordings already come pre-compressed/clipped and will be louder than our libraries. when you are working with 32 Bit Float gun recordings you’ll need to compress/clip the recordings in order to get the same loudness.

Metadata

One of the most powerful features included in the Master Gun library is its extensive metadata and tagging. Every single field has been filled out. Every library is compatible with all major sound library management software including Sound Miner, Baeshead, Soundly, etc.

To take advantage of all the metadata features we do recommend using Sound Miner.
