The Master Gun Steyr AUG Sound Effects library is recorded using a large array of various microphone configurations, we recorded shots from several distances in an open shooting range in the Nevada Desert.

Weapon Information

The Steyr AUG (Armee Universal Gewehr) is an iconic Austrian bullpup assault rifle, setting standards for compact, modular, and reliable firearms since its late 1970s introduction. Originally designed for the Austrian military, it has been widely adopted by armed forces and law enforcement agencies globally.

The rifle features a bullpup configuration with a 16-inch barrel in a compact 29-inch overall length, maximizing maneuverability while maintaining medium-range effectiveness.

Key features include: – Modular design allowing easy component swaps for mission-specific customization – Integrated optics in earlier models, replaced by a full-length Picatinny rail in the A3 variant – Integral folding vertical grip for enhanced control and stability – Ambidextrous ejection configurable for left and right-handed users – Bullpup configuration for a full-length barrel in a shorter, more portable package – Compatibility with STANAG or proprietary AUG magazines.

The Steyr AUG’s combination of advanced features, reliability, and versatility has established it as a benchmark in bullpup rifle design. Raw Recordings

Our raw shots features a total of 20 channels including 10 Stereo sources. All of our close and mid spaced pair Microphone options can be used as two independent mono microphones. The right side of every spaced pair will have more Mech than its left side counterpart.

Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable.

Our foley features a total of a stereo A/B pair of Neumann KMR81i mts which are placed on both the left and right of the gun. All of the foley has been recorded at 192kHz for extreme processing workflows.

Why Deliver 32-Bit Float Shots?

There are several advantages in using 32Bit float recordings. One of which is having greater separation from the explosion of the gun and the mech. Because of this, you’ll be able to isolate the mech from each gun and bring out each guns unique characteristics.

32Bit Float files require a slightly different workflow than you might be used to. Other gun sample libraries that use 24 Bit recordings already come pre-compressed/clipped and will be louder than our libraries. when you are working with 32 Bit Float gun recordings you’ll need to compress/clip the recordings in order to get the same loudness.

Metadata

One of the most powerful features included in the Master Gun library is its extensive metadata and tagging. Every single field has been filled out. Every library is compatible with all major sound library management software including Sound Miner, Baeshead, Soundly, etc.

To take advantage of all the metadata features we do recommend using Sound Miner.
