The Master Gun Savage 110 BA Sound Effects library is recorded using a large array of various microphone configurations, we recorded shots from several distances in an open shooting range in the Nevada Desert.

Weapon Information

The Savage 110 BA in .338 Lapua Magnum is a precision-engineered bolt-action rifle designed for extreme long-range shooting. Developed to meet the needs of military snipers, law enforcement, and long-range shooting enthusiasts, it delivers exceptional accuracy at distances up to 1,500 meters.

The rifle features a 26-inch free-floating, fluted barrel and has an overall length of 50.5 inches, weighing 15.75 lbs. It’s equipped with a 5-round detachable box magazine and Savage’s renowned AccuTrigger system.

Key features include: – User-adjustable AccuTrigger for precise, controlled shots – Free-floating, fluted barrel for improved accuracy and heat dissipation – Aluminum chassis providing a rigid, stable platform – Full-length Picatinny rails for mounting optics and accessories – Adjustable stock for customized fit and comfort – Large, three-chamber muzzle brake to reduce recoil impulse.

Despite the powerful .338 Lapua cartridge, the combination of this effective muzzle brake and the rifle’s heavy weight results in surprisingly mild recoil, enhancing shooter comfort and follow-up shot capability.

Raw Recordings

Our raw shots features a total of 20 channels including 10 Stereo sources. All of our close and mid spaced pair Microphone options can be used as two independent mono microphones. The right side of every spaced pair will have more Mech than its left side counterpart.

Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable.

Our foley features a total of a stereo A/B pair of Neumann KMR81i mts which are placed on both the left and right of the gun. All of the foley has been recorded at 192kHz for extreme processing workflows.

Why Deliver 32-Bit Float Shots?

There are several advantages in using 32Bit float recordings. One of which is having greater separation from the explosion of the gun and the mech. Because of this, you’ll be able to isolate the mech from each gun and bring out each guns unique characteristics.

32Bit Float files require a slightly different workflow than you might be used to. Other gun sample libraries that use 24 Bit recordings already come pre-compressed/clipped and will be louder than our libraries. when you are working with 32 Bit Float gun recordings you’ll need to compress/clip the recordings in order to get the same loudness.

Metadata

One of the most powerful features included in the Master Gun library is its extensive metadata and tagging. Every single field has been filled out. Every library is compatible with all major sound library management software including Sound Miner, Baeshead, Soundly, etc.

To take advantage of all the metadata features we do recommend using Sound Miner.
