Weapon Information

The NSV, named after its designers Nikitin, Sokolov, and Volkov, is a Soviet-designed heavy machine gun introduced in 1971 to replace the aging DShK. Known for its reliability and effectiveness, it can engage a wide range of targets, including infantry, unarmored vehicles, and low-flying aircraft.

The weapon has an overall length of 61.4 inches and weighs 55 lbs. It’s primarily vehicle-mounted but can also be deployed on a tripod for ground use. The NSV is belt-fed, typically using 50-round belts.
