The Master Gun HK21E Sound Effects library is recorded using a large array of various microphone configurations, we recorded shots from several distances in an open shooting range in the Nevada Desert.

Weapon Information

The Heckler & Koch HK21E is a highly modular general-purpose machine gun (GPMG) designed for various battlefield roles. Based on the G3 rifle platform, it utilizes a roller-delayed blowback system, which enhances reliability in harsh combat conditions.

Renowned for its versatility, sustained fire capability, and ease of use, the HK21E can be rapidly adapted to different operational roles and calibers, making it one of the most modular GPMGs available.

Key features include: – Quick-change barrel mechanism for sustained fire during prolonged engagements – Modular design allowing caliber conversion (7.62×51mm NATO, 5.56×45mm NATO, 7.62×39mm) – Belt-fed system with compatibility for 20-round box or 50-round drum magazines – Ambidextrous fire selector for semi-automatic and fully automatic modes – Upside-down belt feed system for improved feeding reliability – Durable construction for reliable performance in challenging environments.

The HK21E’s modularity and sustained fire capability make it an essential asset for infantry support, vehicle-mounted operations, and various tactical roles.

Raw Recordings

Our raw shots features a total of 28 channels including 13 Stereo and 2 mono sources. All of our close and mid spaced pair Microphone options can be used as two independent mono microphones. The right side of every spaced pair will have more Mech than its left side counterpart.

Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable.

Our foley features a total of 4 audio channels with 1 Stereo and 2 mono sources, including the Sanken CO-100k which captures frequencies above 100kHz for extreme pitch shifting workflows.

Why Deliver 32-Bit Float Shots?

There are several advantages in using 32Bit float recordings. One of which is having greater separation from the explosion of the gun and the mech. Because of this, you’ll be able to isolate the mech from each gun and bring out each guns unique characteristics.

32Bit Float files require a slightly different workflow than you might be used to. Other gun sample libraries that use 24 Bit recordings already come pre-compressed/clipped and will be louder than our libraries. when you are working with 32 Bit Float gun recordings you’ll need to compress/clip the recordings in order to get the same loudness.

Metadata

One of the most powerful features included in the Master Gun library is its extensive metadata and tagging. Every single field has been filled out. Every library is compatible with all major sound library management software including Sound Miner, Baeshead, Soundly, etc.

To take advantage of all the metadata features we do recommend using Sound Miner.
