The Master Gun Beretta M9A3 Sound Effects library is recorded using a large array of various microphone configurations, we recorded shots from several distances in an open shooting range in the Nevada Desert.

Weapon Information

The Beretta M9A3 is an evolution of the iconic Beretta M9, designed to meet modern demands of military, law enforcement, and civilian users. Introduced in 2015, it incorporates several enhancements over the original M9 platform while retaining its renowned reliability.

The pistol features a 5.1-inch cold hammer-forged barrel, designed for precision and longevity. It operates with a short-recoil, delayed locking-block system, characteristic of the M9 design.

Key features include: – Modular Vertec-style frame with thin, straight backstrap for improved ergonomics – Tritium night sight system and slide cut for optional optics – 17-round sand-resistant magazine as standard – Threaded barrel for suppressor attachment – Picatinny rail for mounting accessories – Oversized magazine release and reversible magazine catch – Traditional double-action/single-action (DA/SA).

The Beretta M9A3’s combination of proven M9 reliability with modern enhancements makes it suitable for a wide range of users. Its modularity, improved ergonomics, and increased durability position it as a versatile and effective modern handgun.

Raw Recordings

Our raw shots features a total of 20 channels including 10 Stereo sources. All of our close and mid spaced pair Microphone options can be used as two independent mono microphones. The right side of every spaced pair will have more Mech than its left side counterpart.

Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable.

Our foley features a total of a stereo A/B pair of Neumann KMR81i mts which are placed on both the left and right of the gun. All of the foley has been recorded at 192kHz for extreme processing workflows.

Designed Mixes

We included 3 sets of designed mixes:

Building Blocks:
Our Building Blocks mixes are lightly designed assets which are specifically created to give you a jump start in designing your own gun shots if you don’t want to work with the raw assets.

Modern Mixes:
Inspired by some of our favourite games we’ve crafted an aggressive mix which not only includes a composit mix but also includes the individual layers (Shot, Mech, Tail, Atmo, & Trigger Pull).

Realistic Mixes:
We have also included 3 realistic mixes designed by our recordist so that you can hear exactly what this gun sounded like from the shooters prospective.

Suppressed Recordings

In addition to the unsuppressed shot recordings, we’ve also sampled the Beretta M9A3 with a suppressor attachment. The suppressed Beretta M9A3 was sampled right after the unsuppressed recordings using the exact same microphone setup as the unsuppressed version. This provides you a seamless transition between the unsuppressed and the suppressed recordings.

The suppressed recordings also have the added benefit of muting the shot layers which helps bring out the intricate details of the mechanism (mech layers).

Because adding a suppressor to the firearm increases the weapons muzzle velocity, the fire rate of the suppressed weapon is slightly faster than its unsuppressed counterpart.

With the purchase of the Master Gun Armoury Bundle you will receive all base library updates for free which can include us recording new samples for the library, re-sampling the entire library with more microphones, new designed mixes, metadata updates, etc.

Why Deliver 32-Bit Float Shots?

There are several advantages in using 32Bit float recordings. One of which is having greater separation from the explosion of the gun and the mech. Because of this, you’ll be able to isolate the mech from each gun and bring out each guns unique characteristics.

32Bit Float files require a slightly different workflow than you might be used to. Other gun sample libraries that use 24 Bit recordings already come pre-compressed/clipped and will be louder than our libraries. when you are working with 32 Bit Float gun recordings you’ll need to compress/clip the recordings in order to get the same loudness.

Metadata

One of the most powerful features included in the Master Gun library is its extensive metadata and tagging. Every single field has been filled out. Every library is compatible with all major sound library management software including Sound Miner, Baeshead, Soundly, etc.

To take advantage of all the metadata features we do recommend using Sound Miner.
