The Master Gun AK-103 Sound Effects library is recorded using a large array of various microphone configurations, we recorded shots from several distances in an open shooting range in the Nevada Desert.

Weapon Information

The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Magnum (AWM) in .338 Lapua Magnum is a high-precision bolt-action sniper rifle designed for extreme long-range engagements. Manufactured by Accuracy International, it’s part of the Arctic Warfare series known for exceptional accuracy, reliability, and durability in extremely cold climates.

The rifle has an overall length of 48.4 inches and weighs 15.1 lbs without optics. It features a 5-round detachable box magazine and is capable of engaging targets effectively at distances up to 1,500 meters. The AWM’s combination of long-range accuracy, durability, and adaptability has made it a preferred choice for military snipers requiring extreme long-range precision. Its effectiveness has been proven in various conflicts, most notably in British Armed Forces service where it’s designated as the L115A3.

Raw Recordings

Our raw shots features a total of 20 channels including 10 Stereo sources. All of our close and mid spaced pair Microphone options can be used as two independent mono microphones. The right side of every spaced pair will have more Mech than its left side counterpart.

Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable.

Our foley features a total of a stereo A/B pair of Neumann KMR81i mts which are placed on both the left and right of the gun. All of the foley has been recorded at 192kHz for extreme processing workflows.

Why Deliver 32-Bit Float Shots?

There are several advantages in using 32Bit float recordings. One of which is having greater separation from the explosion of the gun and the mech. Because of this, you’ll be able to isolate the mech from each gun and bring out each guns unique characteristics.

32Bit Float files require a slightly different workflow than you might be used to. Other gun sample libraries that use 24 Bit recordings already come pre-compressed/clipped and will be louder than our libraries. when you are working with 32 Bit Float gun recordings you’ll need to compress/clip the recordings in order to get the same loudness.

Metadata

One of the most powerful features included in the Master Gun library is its extensive metadata and tagging. Every single field has been filled out. Every library is compatible with all major sound library management software including Sound Miner, Baeshead, Soundly, etc.

To take advantage of all the metadata features we do recommend using Sound Miner.
