RM277

The Master Gun RM277 Sound Effects library is recorded using a large array of various microphone configurations, we recorded shots from several distances in an open shooting range in the Nevada Desert.

Weapon Information

The RM277 is a bullpup rifle and automatic weapon system developed by True Velocity and LoneStar Future Weapons for the U.S. Army’s NGSW program. Built around the high-pressure 6.8 TVC composite-cased cartridge, it aims to deliver improved lethality, extended range, and reduced system weight compared to legacy 5.56×45mm platforms.

Weighing approximately 9 lbs, the RM277 uses a 22-inch barrel within a compact bullpup layout, measuring 29.1 inches collapsed and 32.5 inches extended. This configuration maximizes muzzle energy without increasing overall length. The weapon family includes both rifle and automatic variants built on a common architecture, each optimized for their respective roles through different operating modes and barrel configurations.

Key features include: Gas and recoil operated system with SRIA for reduced recoil, Closed-bolt rifle (RM277-R) and open-bolt automatic (RM277-AR) variants, Fully ambidextrous controls, Tool-less field-strip barrel-change system, Magazine or drum feeding capability, Configurable left/right ejection with soft forward case ejection, Non-reciprocating charge handle with charge-on-safe capability, Modular polymer chassis suitable for optics and mission accessories.

Although not selected during the NGSW program, the RM277 showcased forward-looking concepts such as composite-cased ammunition integration, a long-barreled bullpup architecture, and advanced recoil-mitigation technology. Its dual-mode firing system, flexible ergonomics, and lightweight construction reflect a modern approach to creating compact, high-energy infantry weapons.

Raw Recordings

Our raw shots features a total of 28 channels including 13 Stereo and 2 mono sources. All of our close and mid spaced pair Microphone options can be used as two independent mono microphones. The right side of every spaced pair will have more Mech than its left side counterpart.

Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable.

Our foley features a total of 4 audio channels with 1 Stereo and 2  mono sources, including the Sanken CO-100k which captures frequencies above 100kHz for extreme pitch shifting workflows.

Designed Mixes

We included 3 sets of designed mixes:

Building Blocks:
Our Building Blocks mixes are lightly designed assets which are specifically created to give you a jump start in designing your own gun shots if you don’t want to work with the raw assets.

Modern Mixes:
Inspired by some of our favourite games we’ve crafted an aggressive mix which not only includes a composit mix but also includes the individual layers (Shot, Mech, Tail, Atmo, & Trigger Pull).

Realistic Mixes:
We have also included 3 realistic mixes designed by our recordist so that you can hear exactly what this gun sounded like from the shooters prospective.

Suppressed Recordings

In addition to the unsuppressed shot recordings, we’ve also sampled the RM277 with a suppressor attachment. The suppressed RM277 was sampled right after the unsuppressed recordings using the exact same microphone setup as the unsuppressed version. This provides you a seamless transition between the unsuppressed and the suppressed recordings.

The suppressed recordings also have the added benefit of muting the shot layers which helps bring out the intricate details of the mechanism (mech layers).

Because adding a suppressor to the firearm increases the weapons muzzle velocity, the fire rate of the suppressed weapon is slightly faster than its unsuppressed counterpart.

All Future Updates For Free

With the purchase of the Master Gun Armoury Bundle you will receive all base library updates for free which can include us recording new samples for the library, re-sampling the entire library with more microphones, new designed mixes, metadata updates, etc.

Why Deliver 32-Bit Float Shots?

There are several advantages in using 32Bit float recordings. One of which is having greater separation from the explosion of the gun and the mech. Because of this, you’ll be able to isolate the mech from each gun and bring out each guns unique characteristics.

Every single gun has been recorded using the same gain settings on the same recorders, and we have level matched each microphone option between the same calibers so your 50ft microphones will be the same or similar across all libraries that share the same calibers. This makes mixing large amounts of weapons easier as the loudness and character of each gun is predictable

32Bit Float files require a slightly different workflow than you might be used to. Other gun sample libraries that use 24 Bit recordings already come pre-compressed/clipped and will be louder than our libraries. when you are working with 32 Bit Float gun recordings you’ll need to compress/clip the recordings in order to get the same loudness.

Metadata

One of the most powerful features included in the Master Gun library is its extensive metadata and tagging. Every single field has been filled out. Every library is compatible with all major  sound library management software including Sound Miner, Baeshead, Soundly, etc.

To take advantage of all the metadata features we do recommend using Sound Miner.
