The RM834 is a next-generation belt-fed machine gun developed by True Velocity as a lightweight, modular replacement for legacy 7.62 NATO GPMGs, including potential roles similar to modernized MK48-class systems. Built around a .473-inch bolt face, it supports multiple calibers, including 7.62×51mm NATO, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 6.8 TVC, allowing units to tailor ballistic performance to mission needs.

Weighing 12.4-15.6 lbs depending on configuration, the RM834 is dramatically lighter than traditional GPMGs. Its gas and recoil operated system incorporates Short-Recoil Impulse Averaging (SRIA) to reduce recoil and stabilize the weapon during sustained fire. The RM834 includes Safe, Semi, and Auto selector positions, enabling precision fire as well as fully automatic belt-fed operation. The platform features a quick-change barrel with fixed headspace and timing, a folding stock, and MIL-STD-1913 rail space for optics and mission accessories.
